I'm a former social worker and teacher who left his professional post to pursue the arts full-time. In addition to photography, I'm an established puppeteer, body painter, sculptor, writer and performer whose work has appeared and/or been featured in print publications, in art galleries, on television, in feature films and on the acting stage. My photography and writings have been published in Dominican Life, Dominican Times, Next, Akut, Beautiful, Urban Latino, Ave, Ohlala, Monaga's, Xtasis Foro, National Catholic Reporter and the Bronx Beat. I've exhibited my work at St. Ann's Warehouse, the Bronx Museum Studio Gallery, Botanica, CBGB Gallery 113, ArtUp, here, BAAD, The Point, chashama, and El Taller Latinoamericano. I've also performed with or on the stages of the Festpielhaus (Austria), Kentucky Opera, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, the Kitchen, HBO's Sopranos, "El Cantante," here, St. Ann's Warehouse, Minor Latham Playhouse, Blackbird Theater, the Kitchen, here, chashama, 13th Street Repertory, Harley Davidson, ABC News Nightline, and others. Finally, I've staged, assisted, or directed fashion shows featured at Escandalo Nights, Umbrella, FIT, No Parking, Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club, Crobar, and Plumm.
